Really like your home theatre videos. I wanted to know where to purchase your black velvet materials. I have 150 inch screen diy and wanted to put velvet around the screen to make it look like a floating projector screen. Can I cover just the edges around the screen or cover the while wall….. my screen covers about 80 percent of my wall. Thx

i either leave the screen open in small 16:9 or large 16:9 (usually the later), or i can run scope and force a 2.39 crop for the entire movie. plenty of "imax" footage is very watchable this way, sometimes improved even keeping the entire film scope vs having random scenes that are taller.

Hey man! I'm wanting to do the same type of imax at home kind of a thing like you've got here. Any pointers? If I just buy a 16x9 screen, will the AR transition smoothly? Or will I have to mess with a projector setting to get it right. Cause I know 2:35 on a 16x9 screen will have bars on all four sides. Anyways, thanks for any help!

I can not do a CIH screen due to immersion, I will have 16:9 content a lot of the time and the idea of a 150" CIH and a 113" 16:9 sounds awful. Currently I am planning on building a 138"x70" screen so I will have a 150" scope and a 143" 16:9. I would do taller for a bigger 16:9 but I don't think the rear row will see the bottom of the screen ha. I will have to play around a bit after the stage is built. 4 way masking is a must, I am not sure if I have the know how to automate it, I may just make manual masking panels.

Do you feel like the velvet helped make your screens perceived brightness go up? I am designing my rooms final look and will be doing similar masking and have a ton of black velvet. My biggest concern is my JVC NX7s ability to light up a 150" 2.35:1 screen. I hope getting the room blacked out will help make it seem brighter.

I contacted your speaker manufacturer and asked for the Frequency response graph of their floor-standing speakers that you own and show on your channel. Guess what? They sent me the FR of the horn. Not the compression driver and horn just the plastic horn. WTF? I asked for an impedance graph and I was told the speakers were "about 6 Ohms". Again WTF? They must be REALLY bad to hide that information from a potential buyer. I design and build my own speakers (then test them) so I know they are hiding something they don't want disclosed. IMO stay the H3ll away from them. Love your channel dude.
